sir,

Colonial Secretary's Office,

Hongkong, 1st. June, 1912.

225

With reference to your letter of the 29th.

May, I am directed to inform you that it is not possible to take

the proposed railway siding into the Wharf and Godown Company's

property without interference with one of the existing buildings.

So far as the Manager of the British Section of the Kowloon-Canton

Railway can judge, the siding will pass through a Godown about 35

feet from the Praya. The siding will, however, be brought in as to the sea pont near as possible so that it can be conveniently continued along

the Praya.

2.

In the event of the Government hereafter desir.

-ing to sell or dispose of any portion of Kowloon Marine Lot No. 9 the Wharf and Godown Company will be given pre-emptive rights.

3.

If I learn from you that the above modifica- -tions of the conditions are acceptable to your Company, a financial minute for 81,472,389.53 will be brought before Legisla- -tive Council at its next meeting.

I am etc..

(Sd.) C. Clementi,

Colonial Secretary.

The Chairman,

Hongkong and Kowloon Wharf and Godown

Company, Limited.
